Good laptop in terms of price and looks only

i have bought this laptop from the market at a higher price than mentioned here. At first i didnt believed it but i again enquired about its price in other shops too but the prices are even more higher than i bought. (all the configuration are same even the colour)
CONCLUSION : i'm regretting for not ordering it from flipkart

Now IN TERMS OF LOOKS AND PRFORMANCE

this is a fair choise not good in my opinion

REASON I'm Dissappointed of -
1. the camera quality is highly dissapponting
2. the laptop is not as fast as i expected i.e runs too slow
3. No otical drive
4. Glossy screen makes it look cheap (in my opinion)
5. Battery back up isn't good enough (about 2-2.5 hours max)

REASON YOU SHOULD BUY THIS LAPTOP FOR
1.you cannot even imagine to get such a great looking laptop at this price point.
2.ITS very very thin at just 23mm (absolutely looks like an ultrabook)
3.keyboard is really awesome
4.weight is about 1.8 kg i.e travelling with a backpack having this laptop feels like travelling with a tablet
5.sound is really good (Dolby advance audio v2)

Awesome look / Light weight only 1.8 KG / Only problem with function keys

I have purchase this sleek book last Saturday. I have purchased for Rs. 33300 with 8 GB RAM up gradation.

Pros:-

1. Sleek book
2. Easy to carry
3. Less heat
4. Ultra fast USB 3.0
5. Keyboard is good except Function keys operation (we have to use 'Fn' key)
6. Great sound
7. Battery backup is good.(But previous reviewers say that they are getting only 2-2.5 hrs, but i m getting 4 hrs backup)

Cons:-

1. I m a visual studio developer. While debugging I have to use either F10 or F11 key.. But while pressing F10 or F11 some characters are being typed. I have to press any function key along with 'Fn' key. That's a bit embarrassing as we need to leave mouse and press 'Fn' and a function key.

Is there any solution for this to make Function Keys as their default operation without pressing 'Fn' key? please help.

2. Webcam is poor.
3. No optical drive (for XP users needs an external drive)
4. Processor clock speed is low (1.4 GHz).
5. Touch pad is not up to the mark. Buttons are hard. Only at one particular area double tapping is accepted.

Awesome sleekbook!!

flipkart delivered this product in 2days :).. awesome service..
talking about the laptop Lenovo Ideapad S400.. its amazingly slim and sleek.. the quality and finishing is really great..
keyboard is amazing to type on..
i am mca student, freelance webdeveloper, graphics, tech gk..
i saw many people reviewed the product is giving less then 2-2:30 hours battery backup.. yes it gives 2-2:30 hours battery backup at fist run.. try charging battery full and drain it full and then charge it back fully, then it gives around 4 hours battery backup or disable aero glass in windows7!!.. yea anyways it gives less wen using wifi!!!
ive tested it...
talking about cons.. m disappointed with webcam and i feel display is not up to the mark..
sound quality is amazing wen connected to home theater or speakers with dolby surround.. feels like movie theater..
and games work good!! not for the extreme high end!! anyways this isnt a gaming laptop..
we can even switch the hardisk to SSD if required...

overall a good laptop from lenovo.. very light and slim.. extreme portable...
i give it 4.. :)

Simply Awesome...

Thanks to Flipkart's failure to deliver two laptops, I went and bought this piece from market at a slightly higher price...
Loaded Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 together... With windows 7 the product runs hassle free... full 3 hours battery backup in normal mode... with power saver option another hour can be expected. Graphics card helps 1080p videos run without any extra effort. Sound quality of the machine is simply brilliant.
With ubuntu a little bit of heating is there but rest other things are good...
Weight of the laptop is under 2 kilos, this is a major advantage of this eyecandy...

Verdict: Performance packed and Expensive looking laptop at an amazingly small price...

I installed Windows 7 and accidently formatted the hidden partition used for Lenovo quick start and One Key recovery and now unable to restore... Somebody help...
